Here is a Top 5 List of the most popular Gay Bars / Pubs / Discos in the Klang Valley, Malaysia at the moment. ( Updated October 2015 ). I know that Malaysia doesn't have lotsa places for PLUs to chill-out...but I hope this can help to shed some information to all the gays in the world when they are in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Cheers!
Kuala Lumpur used to organise Gay Parties and Events back then, such as the one above, Prince World 2008. But unfortunately, over the years, the Malaysian government has taken a hard stand on anti-LGBT activities and had undertaken many raids and crackdowns on gay events. Thus, we, Malaysians, may not know when we can finally see such a grand scale Gay Event held in KL again ...
Market Place Lounge Bar
The most popular gay dance club in Kuala Lumpur for the past decade. Ground floor is the entrance and the dance floor. There will be tables and sofas at the back of the dance floor for guys to mingle. There is a mini bar, DJ station and a lounge room at the mezzanine floor, while the Rooftop serves as a cool chill-out space with tables overlooking the majestic Petronas Twin Towers and an outdoor bar. If you want to spot the best looking guys, be it Hunks, Twunks, Twinks, Bears, Regular Joe(s), who's who in the KL gay scene, gay artistes and celebrities -- come here and you will find them all! The place stays young until 3am.
It plays top notch dance hits and house music, but the musical taste has dropped over the years, despite feedback from lubbers (including me! -- LOL -- I find Market Place's remixes are definitely not on par with other clubs in KL nor around the region ). Even so, the place is fully packed on Saturday Gay Nights, mostly because there ain't no other gay clubs to head to.
4, Lorong Yap Kwan Seng, 50450 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
- Blue Boy Bar and Discotheque
- Malaysia's oldest gay club, serving the gay community for more than 20 years. Blue Boy remains very popular, particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. The highlight of the night is the drag show on weekends. Crowd is mostly young Malays and White Caucasians ( due to its' proximity to KL's tourist centre ) -- with a handful of foreigners, Chinese and Indians
